Our first meeting was a full house at the Garden Grill! Unbelieveable attendence and unbelievable programs on their way to you this year through this network.

Many new members have joined us to make us bigger and stronger than before. Through these tough economic times, we need to make sure we stick together to promote each other and support each other in business.

Ginny Salerno from LI2DAY came to discuss her cause regarding breast cancer. October is coming and its Breast Cancer awareness month. Listen, there are very few of us who are not touched by breast cancer, one way or another. What’s important is more of us are surviving today because of education, mammography, self examintion, better nutrition and the support of our friends, families and colleagues. GET A MAMMOGRAM. Surprise guest, Legislator John Kennedy, came to let us know how impressed he is with this network and our outreach, professionalism and community minded efforts. If you weren’t at the meeting, please know since June, his office has helped us make connections to reach our goals. He has made himself available to you,and is willing to address your concerns and needs. That’s networking! He gets it and has offered us a hand to help us actualize our goals. Knowing that we are non-partisan and non-political group – his interest is in the community and supporting anyone who does the same – congratulations ladies, you are making an impact! I applaud you as well. Keep showing up.

Make a phone call, send an email or simply smile at each other! Life is too hard not to be kind to each other. One of the lessons I have certainly learned from all of you is that professional women can also be kind to each other. This group has proven over and over again that business does not mean stepping on each other. Stop and look around~by doing we achieve.

You have an incredible team for a board this year as you have had in the past. Your board supported me and took responsibility when I faced obstacles this summer. Teamwork will get us where we want to go. We don’t know everything, we can't control anything, yet we can push each other uphill when needed or throw a rope and pull. This network is alive and successful, come on in and get what you need to make it through to success. Even when the climate is turbulant we will be here.
