Members Spotlight:  Maria Reitano, Creative Wear Limited

About Me- I grew up in a family that was in the reupholster business. At a very young age I learned how to sew on my dad’s sewing machine. Once I learned there was no stopping me. I sewed every chance I could. I made clothes for everyone and always loved clothing and creating my own designs.

After working many years in offices and raising my children I decided to let the creativeness come back. For ten years I owned beautiful jewelry stores in which I would design jewelry. I started out working with brides creating different things for their bridal parties. I then went on to fine jewelry, working with gemstones, diamonds and many craftsmen to create one of a kind pieces.

In 2010, I closed my stores. At that time I thought not working would be fun, but not for me.

So I began sewing little girl dresses, embroidering bibs, blankets, and sweatshirts.

I was introduced to the art of adding rhinestones to clothing. I now can design different clothing, working with gyms, teams, brides, and corporate.

My library of designs keeps growing every day. If you think it, I can make a pattern and bling it. Let’s bring some sparkle into your life. You can buy rhinestone transfers to add to your own clothing or pick out something from my gallery and I will add it for you.

I also add rhinestones to wedding veils, dance apparel, bathing suits, costumes, Gymnastic apparel.

Started in my house, and I am now moving into a factory. My new location 266 Middle Island Road, Medford NY.  I will be in full swing with a multi decoration of apparel. Call for an appointment anytime. Enjoy my website www.creativewearlimited.com.  Brand your business with bulk discounts.

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Michele Martin

We had a great meeting on February 28th, 2013 with 20 attendees.  The energy in the room was fun and contagious and of course  the food was excellent.  Our spotlight member speaker was Dr. YuShiaw Chen. Dr Chen informed  us  that when we are not feeling well our bodies are trying to tell  us that something is wrong. Through proper nutrition we can avoid diseases and taking medications. Nutrition is the key component to feeling good.  Thank you also to our guest speaker, Leah Jantzen, Life Coach and Strategist , who  gave us tips   on blogging and marketing our business.

This month we will have Robert  Fishman from Sandler Training as our speaker.  I was fortunate to see one of Rob’s presentations recently and was very impressed.  I asked Rob to do a workshop  on DISC: Understanding and Successfully Utilizing the Science of Effective Communication in Sales and Client Development . This will  help us understand the behavioral and personality differences in people  you work and deal with every day.

SAVE THE DATE :    As we know,  Identity Theft is on the rise.  One out of four people will fall victim to this crime in their lifetime.   At our April 25th, 2013 meeting we will be having Charlie DeBlasio from A Shred Away join us for a ‘Night of Shredding”.  Charlie Is licensed and insured and  does commercial and residential on site shredding to keep your clients and your personal  information  ‘private’.   You are invited to bring a  ‘bag’ or ‘box’  of  private information ( old income tax records,  medical bills,  student loans, etc )  that you have around the house and Charlie will shred it for you.  We hope to see you at the March 28th meeting.  Please remember the time change to 6pm and to pre register.
